Our curriculum is broad and balanced to support all of our students in achieving their full potential – their successful future is our concern. We value all academic, creative and vocational subjects and are proud to offer a wide range of relevant and engaging subjects to all our students.
In key stage 3 (years 7 to 9), students follow core studies in English, Maths and Science. During these years, all students spend four lessons per week in each core subject, ensuring they have a solid foundation of skills and knowledge in literacy, numeracy and science that will ensure that they thrive in all other subjects.
Students extend their learning through a rich and varied curriculum that includes Philosophy and Ethics (RE), Music, History, Geography, Modern Languages, Art, Technology, ICT, PE and PSCHE, with all students learning French. A range of subjects are offered so that students can access a diverse array of qualifications later in their education, to give them the best opportunities to achieve whatever career pathway they choose.
Life Skills lessons enhance the curriculum and happen throughout the academic year to seamlessly link together PSHE and careers provision.
When students begin Year 10, they will choose either History or Geography in addition to their core studies. Students then choose three additional subjects from a range of inspiring courses such as: Drama; Philosophy and Ethics (RE); Food Technology; Music; Design Technology; Art; Child Development; and Construction.
We ensure that students can follow a variety of combinations of courses, including access to the English Baccalaureate (Ebacc).
